Taking Our Pivots Seriously

There's a lot to be learned when building a vision.
I typically work with folks who can't seem to get started, but when happens when you get started but it doesn't turn out how you imagined?
The photo above is from one of my first art events. When I began my business, I hosted small art gatherings at local bars and cafes. I enjoyed connecting with my neighbors and showcasing my skills, but soon realized the cost of supplies, labor intensity, and unpredictable ticket sales made it unsustainable. I ended each event completely exhausted.
So, I had to pivot.
Pivoting can be incredibly scary, especially since we're taught to value the familiar. Changing from our original vision can make us feel like we're back to square one, and completely starting over.
But the only way to grow is to embrace these pivots and take them as seriously as our original plans. Our goals are supposed to lead us down winding, unpredictable roads and provide us with opportunities to grow. Success is always around the corner and you've got help on your side.
