"I'm relaxing."
—Ashley Fluellen

Ashley Fluellen's art is a celebration of imperfection and the power of pause. Through her portraits, she explores the concept of sovereignty; specifically, how our personal views and perspectives shape the stories we tell and the worlds we create. She uses abstract textures, unconventional framing, and bright colors to create a cohesive body of work, composed of diverse standalone pieces.

Ashley is the founder of Dear Imperfect Artist, an online community helping creatives of all levels reclaim the joy of making, release perfectionism, and cultivate a sustainable art practice.  In addition to offering online programming, she partners with organizations to host arts-focused professional development workshops, helping teams find joy and authenticity in the creative journey. Her goal through this work is to inspire others to move beyond the pursuit of finding the 'right answer' and instead embrace the fun, messiness, and authenticity of engaging in a creative practice.
